Ali Cordero Casal was born in Acarigua, Venezuela August 12th, 1955. Third of five children, and son of cattle raiser, agriculture and politician Waldemar Cordero Vale, and Yuya Casal de Cordero. At age 13, he traveled by himself for his own initiative to the United States, showing his interest in learning about different cultures. This voyage was quintessential to his artistic career, being expose to the international art world of the time. ACC got a degree in business administration in the Universidad Catolica Andres Bello de Caracas. he married at age 22 to his muse and recurring subject Dalia Beatriz Reyes Barrios, and had three daughters, Victoria Eugenia, Valentina Isabel and Valeria Alejandra. He became a well-established businessman, founder and president of ACC Insurance Brokers Group, but always had a great interest for the arts. He started a contemporary art collection which has now more than 1200 pieces and includes work of such artists, as Jesus Soto, Andy Warhol, Armand, Robert Mapplhetorpe, Edward Mapplethorpe, Gorge Pizzani, Cerith Wyn Evans, among others. In December 22nd of 1987 Cordero Casal gathered a group of friends to found the Museo de Arte Acarigua Araure (MAAA). ACC stated photographing his family and friends with a pentax k-1000, and later on with small point and shoot cameras, managing to capture very intimate moments. As his interest for photography grew, he started to create many of his artistic projects with other professional photographers.
